Job Title: Building Maintenance Worker

Lanark Lifestyles Retirement Residence is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Building Maintenance Worker to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and physically fit individual to perform routine maintenance tasks, including operating industrial vacuum cleaners, emptying trash cans, and making minor repairs to heating, cooling, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, and debris
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Perform minor repairs on appliances
  • Perform safety and security checks
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work on site with minimal supervision
  • Physical ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
