We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Labourer/Packer to join our team at Conestoga Meat Packers Ltd. in Breslau, Ontario.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks in a fast-paced production environment, including:

  • Transporting raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials throughout the plant and warehouse manually or with powered equipment
  • Measuring and dumping ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines or mobile tank trucks
  • Feeding and unloading food, beverage, and associated products processing machines
  • Removing filled containers from conveyors and manually packing goods into bags, boxes, or other containers
  • Cleaning work areas and equipment
  • Checking products and packaging for basic quality defects
  • Assisting process control and machine operators in performing their duties
  • Sorting, packing, crating, and packaging materials and products
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 1 month to less than 7 months of experience in a labour-related field
  • Experience in food processing is an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet production deadlines
  • A Functional Work Simulation Assessment must be passed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform physical and repetitive job duties for long periods up to 8 hours per shift
  • A commitment to safety and quality practices
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated hand-eye coordination
  • Basic English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • You are legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Completion of some high school education
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires working in a fast-paced environment with heavy loads, noise, and some areas with odours. The cut/packaging department is refrigerated.
