About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Laborer to join our team at K&J Construction Ltd. as a Construction Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting our construction team with various tasks on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading Materials: Assist in loading and unloading construction materials, such as concrete and asphalt, from trucks and equipment.
  • Erecting and Dismantling Forms and Scaffolding: Help to erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required.
  • Mixing and Spreading Materials: Assist in mixing and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt on construction sites.
  • Drilling and Blasting Rock: Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites as needed.
  • Framing and Building: Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs on construction sites.
  • Paving and Raking Asphalt: Help to pave and rake asphalt on construction sites.
  • Cleaning and Piling Materials: Assist in cleaning and piling salvaged materials on construction sites.
  • Removing Debris: Remove rubble and other debris from construction sites.
Requirements
  • Physical Demands: The successful candidate will be required to work in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads and working in various weather conditions.
  • Work Experience: Willingness to train and learn new skills is essential. Previous experience in construction or a related field is an asset.
  • Work Environment: The successful candidate will be required to work on various construction sites, outdoors, and in noisy and dusty environments.
  • Work Schedule: The successful candidate will be required to work 30-40 hours per week, with a permanent employment contract.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication in the workplace.
