Job Summary
This position is responsible for safely coupling and uncoupling tractor trailers, as well as moving and maneuvering equipment to facilitate package handling operations. The successful candidate will assist with organizing the work zone, unloading packages, and scanning them using the correct equipment. Additionally, they will sort packages according to defined processes, store them in designated areas, and fill out documentation as required. The ideal candidate will have a valid Ontario G driver's license, knowledge of package handling principles, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience driving vehicles is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the work zone with suitable equipment in accordance with current guidelines.
  • Assist with organizing the specified set-up.
  • Unload incoming packages manually or using a machine.
  • Check the quantity and condition of delivery units.
  • Scan packages using the correct equipment.
  • Sort packages according to defined processes and store them in designated areas.
  • Fill out documentation or records and validate information on the appropriate media.
  • Reposition vehicles according to the established dock plan.
  • Clean the work environment during or after operations.
  • Report any malfunctions to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid Ontario G driver's license.
  • Knowledge of package handling principles.
  • High school diploma, GED, or International equivalent.
  • 2 years' experience driving vehicles - Preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Pay rate of $17.80/hr.
  • Tuition reimbursement of up to $6000 per year + $900 for course materials (books).
