Position Overview:
The Industry Engagement Specialist plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality and availability of paid employment opportunities for students and graduates. This includes various forms of employment such as co-op, part-time, full-time, and seasonal positions. The specialist will collaborate with multiple departments to create a seamless experience for external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively secure program-related, paid employment opportunities through strategic marketing and outreach efforts.
- Contribute to the smooth operation of employment support activities focused on external engagement.
- Facilitate applied research, entrepreneurship, and project opportunities for students.
- Provide guidance and support to students engaged in Cooperative Education programs.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- A diploma or degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Career Development, Human Resources, or a related field.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a business or educational setting related to employer recruitment and job development.
- Experience working directly with job seekers, particularly in career preparedness and employability skills.
- Proven ability to foster internal and external relationships that lead to new employment opportunities for students.
- Co-op experience at a post-secondary institution is preferred.
Compensation:
This position is classified under Payband I.
