About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Portfolio Manager to join our Investments and Pension Fund team at CMHC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of private market investments, including real estate, infrastructure, and private equity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned portfolios in accordance with CMHC's investment objectives and parameters.
  • Monitor existing portfolio holdings and ensure compliance with all applicable policies and regulations.
  • Research potential investment opportunities, conduct complex risk-return analyses, and present recommendations.
  • Develop, implement, and document sound investment processes, policies, and guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with other institutional investors, asset managers, advisors, and stakeholders.
  • Support the Director by providing guidance, mentoring, and leadership to the team.
Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in finance, business administration, commerce, economics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in managing private market portfolios in an institutional investment environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of investment and portfolio management principles.
  • The ability to interpret economic trends and market relationships.
  • A creative analytical ability and the ability to model investment and risk management strategies using sophisticated technological tools.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • An aptitude in leading and mentoring individuals to achieve a common objective.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A professional designation(s) in a related field, such as the chartered financial analyst (CFA) designation or other relevant license, designation, or certification.
  • Bilingualism (French and English).
