About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Trusser Construction. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction of residential and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Schedule and coordinate work on construction sites
  • Supervise and mentor other workers
  • Estimate costs and materials for construction projects
  • Operate computer-aided design (CAD) software and other computer systems
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial buildings
Requirements
  • Carpenter Trade Certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift heavy loads
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
