The DevOps division is in search of a seasoned Senior Cloud Operations Engineer. We seek individuals who are enthusiastic about technology and possess a robust background in designing, deploying, and managing solutions within a public cloud framework that integrates with corporate backend systems and services. A Senior Cloud Operations Engineer will architect solutions from inception, diagnose issues at both the network and Linux operating system levels, and collaborate effectively across various teams with differing skill sets.
Reporting to the Technical Director, you will work closely with the Operations Development Director and Technical Director to assess and execute projects, ensuring outstanding outcomes. You have a proven track record of managing large-scale systems and balancing competing priorities within the team. Your focus will be on system reliability and predictability. You are dedicated to creating automation to minimize manual interventions and will also have some on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design technical solutions that are secure and maintainable, reducing repetitive tasks for the team.
- Resolve deployment challenges, connectivity issues, performance bottlenecks, and service outages.
- Establish a deployment and support framework that complies with DevOps security protocols.
- Create tools that enhance productivity by automating routine system administration tasks.
- Document system configurations and procedures, including operational runbooks for live support.
- Support a continuous gaming server infrastructure.
- Provide on-call assistance as necessary for feature rollouts, live events, and urgent escalations.
- Diagnose and rectify issues arising from production and live service operations.
- Assess and integrate technologies that enhance team efficiency and platform capabilities.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant experience with public cloud platforms (notably Azure, AWS, and GCP), encompassing design, implementation, and operational support of critical systems.
- Hands-on experience with various DevOps tools and methodologies:
- Infrastructure as Code solutions such as Terraform.
- Container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker.
- Configuration management tools such as Chef and Ansible.
- Monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Pipeline automation tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and GitHub.
- Experience in developing automated solutions using at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Ruby, Go.
- Familiarity with the Git version control system.
- Proven expertise in operating system and network security fundamentals for publicly accessible services hosted on Linux servers.
- Understanding and experience in implementing network resources in a public cloud context, including DNS, subnetting, route tables, NAT, and firewalls.
- Basic knowledge of database concepts such as schema design, relational database management systems, NoSQL/Key-Value stores, performance tuning, client security, and configuration.
- Experience migrating large applications from on-premises data centers to public cloud environments.
