About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Family Tree Childcare Centre. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to our young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Leadership: Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Supply Management: Order supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Creative Expression: Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Engagement: Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Communication: Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Environment Maintenance: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Medical exam, Immunization records.
  • Work Conditions: Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
  • Personal Suitability: Punctuality, Dependability, Interpersonal awareness, Judgement, Reliability, Team player, Values and ethics, Ability to multitask.
