ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd. is seeking a Process Plant Maintenance Millwright to join our dedicated Process Plant Maintenance team. This role will report directly to the Process Plant Mechanical Supervisor.
As a prominent player in the mining industry, Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd. operates one of Canada's largest gold mines, renowned for its significant reserves and growth potential. Our operations are strategically located in a rich mining region, contributing to our status as a leader in gold production.
The Process Plant Maintenance Millwright will play a crucial role in executing mechanical maintenance tasks aimed at achieving production goals efficiently and safely within the Process Plant areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Completing specific work orders with detailed documentation for co-workers to understand work completion and equipment concerns;
- Providing mechanical expertise and utilizing advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills to assist operations and maintenance teams in resolving daily equipment challenges;
- Executing repairs on process plant piping;
- Safely operating various mobile equipment, including small cranes, man lifts, and forklifts;
- Assisting in the commissioning of new installations and modifications;
- Analyzing maintenance procedures and recommending improvements for enhanced effectiveness;
- Identifying, developing, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives;
- Reporting safety issues to the supervisor for prompt resolution;
- Participating in activities that foster a 'World Class' safety culture, ensuring safety is a shared responsibility;
- Promoting a positive health, safety, and environmental culture within the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess:
- An Ontario provincial or inter-provincial (Red Seal) millwright trade certificate or equivalent;
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an industrial or mining environment;
- Additional certification as a welder and the ability to interpret blueprints is advantageous;
- Experience with computer-based maintenance systems, particularly SAP, and familiarity with SAG/Ball mills and cone and gyratory crushers is a plus;
- A demonstrated commitment to safe working practices;
- Experience working in remote work settings is beneficial.
