Job Summary:

The Excavator Operator will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to excavate, move, load, and grade materials on the worksite. This includes ensuring trenches are excavated to the proper depth, grade, and slope, and following directions from the ground crew regarding craning, gravel placement, and grading.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate excavators safely and efficiently
  • Inspect and maintain equipment regularly
  • Collaborate with ground crew to ensure smooth operations
  • Monitor soil conditions and adjust operations accordingly
  • Conduct daily safety checks and report any issues
  • Adhere to OH&S requirements and company safety policies

Requirements:

  • 2 years' experience in a construction environment
  • Strong knowledge of construction site protocols and safety procedures
  • Ability to operate equipment using advanced grading techniques
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Compliance with all safety policies and procedures

Working Conditions:

The Excavator Operator will work in a fast-paced outdoor environment with varying weather conditions. Physical stamina is required for lifting, pulling, and managing heavy equipment and objects. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times.
