Your responsibilities as a Senior MEP Manager include:

  • Overseeing the MEP team to ensure adherence to contract specifications throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design to final handover to Facility Management.
  • Collaborating with the project team during preconstruction phases to align with the procurement strategy.
  • Advising on and executing alternative procurement methods tailored to project needs.
  • Conducting constructability assessments and value engineering evaluations.
  • Offering planning expertise, including interface and risk management, to MEP personnel, Project Managers, and Superintendents for effective schedule creation.
  • Guiding the project team on MEP construction methodologies and ensuring seamless coordination of all on-site MEP operations.
  • Implementing management protocols for mechanical and electrical RFIs, shop drawings, long lead items, and overseeing project completion criteria.
  • Mitigating risks associated with MEP scopes by leveraging knowledge of best operational practices and the project owner's requirements.
  • Assisting in the formulation of the overall project budget and timeline, evaluating tender submissions and pricing, and monitoring project cash flow.
  • Developing contracts and scopes, identifying gaps, and facilitating assessments and resolutions.
  • Supporting the Project Commissioning Authority and clarifying roles within the construction team regarding commissioning activities.
  • Establishing effective communication channels among Clients, Consultants, and departments across Canada, along with protocols for issue identification and resolution.
  • Collaborating with the project ICAT (Information, Communication and Automation Technology) team in system development, implementation, commissioning, and integration to fulfill project requirements.

Are you the ideal candidate?

  • A degree in construction or engineering or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 15 years of experience in mechanical and electrical construction.
  • Experience with P3 Design Build projects.
  • Proficient understanding of contemporary mechanical and electrical engineering systems, principles, and practices.
  • Ability to proactively identify and document issues, effectively coach, manage, and facilitate resolutions.
