Your Opportunity:

As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will engage in a range of defined diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring that the quality of patient care remains paramount. Your responsibilities will include reviewing documentation to confirm accurate patient identification and the appropriate examinations are conducted. You will communicate effectively with patients, preparing, explaining, and positioning them for imaging procedures.

Additionally, you will prepare and/or administer imaging agents as permitted, while reviewing images for completeness and consulting with the Radiologist when necessary. Maintaining quality control throughout all procedures is essential, as you will be accountable for the quality and precision of the images produced, adhering to departmental policies and protocols.

You will also be responsible for documenting all necessary information in patient records as required. Ensuring that all data entry and administrative tasks are completed for each patient is crucial. You will uphold safety standards and maintain the cleanliness of your work area, particularly in relation to infection control and radiation safety protocols.

Your role will involve operating, maintaining, and reporting any malfunctions of imaging equipment. You will conduct daily Quality Assurance activities, including maintaining exam logs, performing phantom QA, and addressing any verification checks or image corrections as needed.

Role Overview:

In the position of Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will execute a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients to assist in diagnosing diseases and pathologies. You will interpret physician requests, prepare and evaluate patients for examinations, and produce high-quality diagnostic images for review by Physicians or Radiologists. Your duties may encompass various procedures, including general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy when required.

Required Qualifications:

- Completion of a diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program.
- Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

- Demonstrated perception, initiative, good judgment, and attention to detail.
- Capability to exhibit tact and courtesy in interactions with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Ability to perform under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of effective radiation protection, infection control, and safety measures.
- Familiarity with Epic (Connect Care) is an asset.
