About the Role

At Family Services of Greater Vancouver, we provide compassionate, client-centered care to vulnerable individuals and families. Our team of expert counsellors and support workers offer a range of services, including one-to-one and group support, to empower our clients to create positive change in their lives.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Integration Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will work directly with children and youth who have developmental disabilities, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, and provide support to their families. The role involves formulating goals, action plans, and strategies with clients and their caregivers, under the guidance of Coordinators and Managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to children and youth with developmental disabilities
  • Formulate goals, action plans, and strategies with clients and their caregivers
  • Work directly with children and youth who have diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down's Syndrome, and other developmental disabilities
  • Provide support to families and caregivers
  • Participate in community-based recreational activities to increase independence and provide support to families
Requirements
  • Two years of post-secondary education or training in child and youth care or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and youth with developmental disabilities
  • Ability to teach functional life skills in a community setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work with children and youth with developmental disabilities, and their families
  • Ability to maintain a client's safety in the community
  • Successful completion of a criminal record check
  • Emergency First Aid certification
