Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team in a Clinical Nutrition role. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert nutrition care to patients across diverse demographics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive nutrition care plans to meet the specific needs of patients.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' nutritional requirements and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to modify and implement guidelines, protocols, and professional care standards in response to evolving patient needs.
  • Analyze emerging trends and advancements in dietary methodologies to enhance clinical nutrition regimens.
  • Design and deliver training sessions and in-service educational initiatives to educate healthcare professionals on nutrition best practices.
Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nutrition with completion of an accredited dietetic internship program.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
  • Member of Dietitians of Canada (an asset).
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a Special Care Nursery and Pediatrics and medicine within the adult population.
  • Experience with neonatal parenteral nutrition support and Pasteurized Donor Milk Program.
  • Experience with Enteral and Parenteral nutrition support required.
  • Broad-based understanding of clinical nutrition needs across diverse patient populations.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Possesses outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changes in patient care and the evolving healthcare landscape.
  • Possess strong negotiation skills and the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of patients and the profession itself.
  • Capability to effectively use information technology to enhance and support their practices (Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel, Meditech Expanse, Computrition).
  • The capacity to work cohesively as part of a collaborative team.
