Job Title: Senior Project Manager, Highway Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our Transportation Engineering team in Ottawa. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading transportation-infrastructure projects, including Class Environmental Assessments, TPAP, preliminary designs, detailed designs, intersection, or corridor improvement studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager on transportation-infrastructure projects.
  • Transportation Engineering task lead for large-scale projects.
  • Manage staff productivity and utilization.
  • Mentor staff and project teams.
  • Supervise staff and participate directly in the completion of projects.
  • Project coordination between other design disciplines, management of project schedule and budget.
  • Participation in the management of the Transportation Group in the Ottawa Office.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience as well as 8+ years of Transportation Engineering.
  • Experience with City of Ottawa, MTO, Region of Peel, York Region, Durham Region, and Halton Region are an asset.
  • Experience with preliminary and detailed design of intersections, arterial roads, highways, and freeways (alignments, geometrics, staging, traffic management, roadside safety).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRoads, and Civil3D an asset.
  • Understanding of traffic engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with Ottawa and/or GTHA market conditions, public and private sector client base in and around Ottawa/GTHA.
  • Familiar with contract administration, construction inspection, and preparation of reports.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in groups with a demonstrated ability to manage projects, project teams, and clients.
  • Excellent technical verbal and written communication skills are expected.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with commitment to excellence and high-quality work.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
