Central 1 is seeking a skilled and dedicated Information Security Engineer for a six-month contract position. In this crucial role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the security of our systems and data across various project teams.

As an Information Security Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to implement and maintain robust security measures for computer systems, networks, and information protection. You will conduct thorough risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop effective mitigation strategies. Your expertise will be instrumental in defining system security requirements and documenting findings, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement comprehensive security measures for computer systems, networks, and information protection.
  • Conduct in-depth risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop strategic mitigation plans.
  • Define clear system security requirements and meticulously document findings.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and review protocols to ensure adherence to security standards.
  • Provide comprehensive reports outlining findings and recommendations to enhance overall system security.
  • Utilize testing tools and programming languages to create exploits for vulnerability assessment purposes.

Strategic Planning & Implementation:

  • Develop robust processes for Threat Modelling and Risk Assessments, ensuring a proactive approach to security management.
  • Design comprehensive enterprise security architecture and create detailed security documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across various departments to implement security controls and ensure seamless integration.
  • Recommend innovative security solutions and conduct rigorous secure testing to validate their effectiveness.

Acquisition & Deployment:

  • Continuously enhance Information Security capabilities by researching and implementing cutting-edge tools and platforms.
  • Build strong relationships with security vendors and stay abreast of the latest industry trends and advancements.
  • Proactively recommend new security solutions and strategies to address evolving threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop comprehensive secure testing strategies to ensure project readiness and mitigate potential risks.

Operational Management:

  • Investigate security incidents promptly, prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity, and validate the effectiveness of implemented fixes.
  • Lead vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify weaknesses and strengthen security posture.
  • Provide valuable security input for project documents and assessments, ensuring a holistic approach to risk management.
  • Evaluate security designs and architectures in response to evolving project needs and requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology with 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in Information Security.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, GCIH, GCIA, GCFE, GWAPT, GPEN, AWS, or Azure are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in IT and Security Architecture principles and best practices.
  • Experience with hardware and software integration within complex IT environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of encryption and digital signature applications and their practical implementation.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing effective security countermeasures to mitigate threats.
  • Familiarity with threat modelling methodologies and application security testing techniques.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and administration principles.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
