We are seeking experienced Senior Electrical Systems Engineers to become part of our Asset Integrity Team at a state-of-the-art aluminum production facility. This role is pivotal in delivering operational excellence through technical acumen and innovative approaches. You will collaborate closely with Maintenance and Operations teams to enhance, maintain, and ensure the safety and stability of operations while tracking and responding to key performance indicators.
This position offers a remarkable opportunity for driven professionals to leverage their technical skills, inspire innovation, and address challenges in a vibrant industrial environment while working alongside skilled colleagues. Depending on your designated area, your responsibilities may include managing specialized equipment such as overhead cranes, furnaces, conveyors, dust collection systems, PLCs, VFDs, and various control systems.
Reporting to the Asset Management Superintendent and enjoying a favorable Monday to Friday work schedule, your responsibilities will include:
- Complying with health, safety, and environmental standards in all problem-solving and operational practices.
- Enhancing equipment performance and reliability through best practices in asset management.
- Innovating in the planning and execution of routine and major maintenance tasks to maximize value and minimize production disruptions.
- Developing comprehensive task and safety procedures to ensure high-quality maintenance outcomes.
- Creating and refining preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Overseeing and optimizing material specifications, substitutions, and bills of materials.
- Providing technical support and guidance to field maintenance teams for both immediate and long-term challenges, including critical issues outside of standard working hours.
- Conducting root cause analyses and implementing defect elimination strategies to close performance gaps.
- A strong commitment to the safety of yourself and your colleagues
- A minimum of five years of engineering experience in industrial settings such as processing plants, mining, manufacturing, or similar heavy industries.
- A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification
- Registration or immediate eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer with the relevant engineering body.
- Candidates with Engineer-In-Training (EIT) status and relevant experience may be considered for tailored roles that align with their qualifications.
- Intermediate troubleshooting skills and a proactive, strategic mindset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of work management processes.
