About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect to join our team at the Department of Cyber Security and Digital Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing technical solutions that meet the needs of our users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guide the team in the design of technical solutions and deliver a technical architecture that balances input from business stakeholders, vendors, and internal technical teams.
  • Conduct options analysis to review current systems functionality, current state architecture, and provide recommendations considering cost, usability, data security, scalability, re-usability, configurability, multi-tenancy, and sustainability.
  • Create architecture diagrams and communicate the solution architecture to all concerned parties.
  • Engage directly with CSDS operations and technical teams to coordinate certain aspects of implementation.
  • Provide consulting and advisory services to leadership and teams within CSDS and our partner departments by participating in RFP development and evaluation.
  • Work with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to turn concepts into user-centered services and promote best practice.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology + 5 years related experience; or graduation from a recognized Information Technology Program + 5 years and 6 months related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to provide innovative IT solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships, gain consensus, and drive change.
  • Effective communication skills, with experience working at a strategic level to understand business challenges and craft comprehensive solutions.
  • Independence in high-level operations with a strong sense of curiosity and commitment to continuous learning.
  • Understanding of modern tech stacks (Python, Django, MySQL, OpenShift, GitLab,.NET, Angular, etc.).
  • Experience designing, developing, or supporting modern open-sourced software solutions is considered an asset.
