Lead Quality Engineering Manager for UI Solutions

Overview of the Role

As the Lead Quality Engineering Manager, you will oversee the UI Solutions team, guiding Engineers in the creation of our offerings. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Quality Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in the leadership team, driving our efforts towards best practices, standardization, and ongoing enhancement. Your influence will be vital in boosting testing and automation across various facets of the organization. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Quality Engineers and SDETs
  • Cultivating a robust Quality Engineering team across multiple agile squads
  • Spearheading initiatives to execute our Automation, CI/CD, and Tool strategies and best practices
  • Delivering results aligned with departmental objectives and strategic roadmap
  • Innovating and advocating for enhancements in Quality Engineering and CI/CD methodologies and tools
  • Establishing and utilizing metrics to refine processes and enhance team performance
  • Elevating the QA team's capabilities through continuous improvement and mentorship
  • Defining and assessing relevant metrics of product quality to inform release decisions that ensure high-quality outcomes
  • Upholding QA best practices and driving process enhancements to produce efficient, scalable, and high-performing software
  • Analyzing and assessing the organization's achievements

Qualifications for Success

Candidates should possess the ability to develop, maintain, and execute automated testing using both existing and new frameworks. You will also implement additional testing tools as your expertise allows. Collaboration with Developers and Architects will be essential, as will the development and maintenance of test sets and the creation of tools that streamline processes. Key qualifications include:

  • Extensive experience, including:
    • 8 years in testing, development, or automation engineering roles
    • 4 years in developing with an object-oriented testing language, such as Python, C#, or Java
    • 3 years in a managerial role within testing, development, or automation
  • Proficiency with popular UI Testing frameworks and methodologies
  • Strong grasp of CI/CD principles, automation technologies, and related tools
  • Experience with Java, Cypress, Python, and/or Groovy
  • Familiarity with REST & SOAP APIs, including validation and scalability
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, along with robust Quality Engineering methodologies
  • Knowledge of Public Cloud platforms, such as AWS
  • Solid foundational understanding of Agile Scrum principles
  • Capability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently to meet demanding timelines
  • Willingness to lead larger initiatives
  • Proven track record in a dynamic software/internet/security/technology environment
  • Ability to attract, retain, and nurture highly skilled software engineering professionals
  • Capacity to foster collaboration and cooperation across diverse teams and personalities
  • Proactive approach – readiness to take initiative and drive results
