We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency/Medical/Hospice department, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care to patients receiving emergency, medical, and hospice care. You will assess patients, collect information, and make nursing diagnoses to determine the best course of action for each patient.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients, including assessing patients, collecting information, and making nursing diagnoses.
- Collaborate with patients and their families/care givers to develop care plans and encourage family participation in the development, implementation, and ongoing modification of the care plan.
- Participate in the care and discharge planning process for patients, ensuring the care plan is established and implemented effectively.
- Coordinate nursing care for patients, set priorities, assign and delegate tasks to support staff, and make referrals to the interprofessional care team as needed.
- Collaborate with members of the interprofessional care team, including physicians, licensed practical nurses, patient care coordinators, clinical nurse educators, and other healthcare professionals/providers.
- Teach patients and families/care givers about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance to help patients accomplish their healthcare goals.
- Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, observations, interventions, patient/family responses, outcomes/evaluations, and referrals according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- One year's recent experience providing emergency nursing care in an acute/rural hospital setting.
- Current certificate in CPR.
