Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Lead the effort to upgrade our existing applications to the latest Spring Boot and Java versions, ensuring that all components are up-to-date and optimized for performance.
  • Cloud Migration: Manage and execute the migration of applications to Amazon EKS, ensuring a seamless transition with minimal downtime.
  • Full Stack Development: Work across the entire application stack, from the front end to the back end, to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
  • Collaboration: Partner with DevOps, QA, and other engineering teams to ensure the smooth deployment of upgrades and migrations.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and implement performance improvements to ensure that applications are running efficiently on the new stack.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the upgrade and migration processes, providing clear instructions for future maintenance and development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven Experience: Proven experience as a Java Full Stack Developer with a strong background in Java-based technologies.
  • Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with Spring Boot (preferably version 3.2.7) and Java 17.
  • Cloud Knowledge: Solid understanding of Kubernetes and experience with Amazon EKS.
  • Upgrade and Migration Experience: Experience in upgrading legacy systems and migrating applications to cloud platforms.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience: Experience working in the financial services industry, particularly with ratings or analytics applications.
  • DevOps Experience: Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Terraform.
  • Front-End Experience: Knowledge of front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js is a plus.

Work Arrangement:

This is a remote position based in Canada. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and available to work during standard business hours.
