About the Role

Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is seeking a part-time Math and Science Teacher/Tutor to join our team at our Edmonton Windermere location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach math and science to students in grades 9-12
  • Develop and implement lesson plans using Oxford Learning's proprietary methodologies
  • Work with students one-on-one or in small groups to help them understand and master math and science concepts
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to improve teaching skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field (e.g. mathematics, science, education)
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Strong knowledge of the current grades 9-12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including but not limited to Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus, and Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
  • Experience teaching or tutoring math at a grade 9-12 level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
