Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer on our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and operation of our quantum hardware and software products. You will work closely with our Hardware Engineers to design and implement solutions that enable quantum hardware operation, and contribute to the development of our data engineering strategy.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and building data pipelines and data serving layers to support our hardware development and operation processes.
  • Developing and maintaining tooling, data management, and communication software products to enable various parts of our hardware development and operation processes.
  • Collaborating with our Hardware Engineers to design and implement solutions that enable quantum hardware operation.
  • Ensuring high-quality production code by maintaining automated test coverage and a dynamic code review process.
  • Performing DevOps tasks, such as maintaining our CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions.

We primarily work with Python, Rust, C++, Postgres, Redis, Docker, CI pipelines, and multiple cloud platforms. Proficiency in at least a subset of these technologies is essential.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role for a minimum of 3 years, with expertise in Python, SQL, and ETL processes.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling concepts and experience with relational and NoSQL databases, plus data storage solutions like Delta tables, RedShift, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
  • Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and proficiency in deploying and managing data infrastructure on cloud environments.
  • Self-driven and able to deliver high-quality solutions to stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience with AWS.
  • Experience with Databricks (big data technologies like Hadoop/Spark is a plus).
  • Experience with multiple data storage technologies.
