Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team at McNally Contractors. As a Concrete Finisher, you will be responsible for the placement, smoothing, and final finish of poured concrete.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
  • Filling hollows and removing high spots to smooth freshly poured concrete.
  • Operating power vibrators to compact concrete.
  • Installing anchor bolts, steel plates, and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete.
  • Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete.
  • Waterproofing, damp-proofing, and restoring concrete surfaces.
  • Repairing, resurfacing, and replacing worn or damaged sections of floors, curb and gutter, walls, roads, and other concrete structures.
  • Executing traffic control plans by placing, removing, covering, and uncovering traffic control signs, cones, barricades, and other traffic control devices. Directing traffic when necessary.

Work Environment/Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat, and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Out-of-town work as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Heavy Civil Construction or labor experience is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Operator's License; with clean Driver's Abstract.
  • Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing.
  • Pre-employment Fit for Work Testing.
