About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Truck and Coach Technician to join our team at Express Truck Center. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of commercial transport trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Test Mechanical Units: Conduct thorough inspections and tests of mechanical units to identify faults and malfunctions.
  • Adjust and Repair Parts: Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems.
  • Confirm Findings with Supervisor: Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit.
  • Discuss Work with Supervisor: Discuss work with supervisor to ensure that all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
  • Review Work Orders: Review work orders to ensure that all necessary repairs are completed.
  • Test Automotive Systems: Test automotive systems and components to ensure that they are functioning properly.
  • Estimate Parts and Labour Costs: Estimate parts and labour costs to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform Scheduled Maintenance Service: Perform scheduled maintenance service to ensure that vehicles are running efficiently and safely.
  • Test and Adjust Repaired Systems: Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Advise Customers on Work Performed: Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements.
  • Complete Reports: Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
  • Coach and Instruct Apprentices: Coach and instruct apprentices to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Provide Customer Service: Provide customer service to ensure that customers are satisfied with the work performed.
Requirements
  • Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification: Possess a valid Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification.
  • Tire, Wheel and Rim Mechanic Certification: Possess a valid Tire, Wheel and Rim Mechanic Certification.
  • Driver's Licence (Class 2 or B or C): Possess a valid Driver's Licence (Class 2 or B or C).
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement: Possess a valid Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
  • First Aid Certificate: Possess a valid First Aid Certificate.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate: Possess a valid Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years or more of experience in the field: Possess 5 years or more of experience in the field of commercial transport truck maintenance.
