We are currently looking for an Electrical Discipline Lead to enhance our talented Electrical team in the Vancouver office. This individual will oversee the Electrical Buildings and Facilities Group in Vancouver, ensuring accountability for the team's business outcomes while providing direct guidance and fostering a culture of business development and market awareness for the services offered by the group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design process from initial feasibility to project completion, maintaining direct communication with clients on significant projects.
  • Conduct detailed electrical design work and review the contributions of junior designers.
  • Lead the CAD team in preparing drawings and ensure deliverables are thoroughly reviewed before submission to clients.
  • Compile written reports based on assessments and audits of building electrical systems.
  • Draft tender documents and technical specifications, evaluating products and contractor proposals to make informed recommendations to owners.
  • Collaborate with management to formulate business strategies aimed at attracting new clients and identifying growth opportunities in electrical engineering.
  • Assist in preparing proposals and reaching out to potential clients to expand business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • P.Eng. registration in Canada.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Consulting Engineering sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian building codes and design standards.
  • Experience in areas such as building renovations, new construction design, data center design (including emergency power, grounding, and UPS), energy audits, condition assessments, LEED-certified projects, telecommunication projects, and lighting design.
  • Strong business acumen, with a focus on cultivating client relationships and securing new projects while addressing client needs effectively.
  • Ability and interest in mentoring junior staff to enhance their technical skills.
