Senior M&A Associate Job Description

Valsoft is seeking a highly motivated and driven Senior M&A Associate to join our team in Montreal. As a key member of our corporate development team, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating potential acquisition targets that align with our growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate M&A targets that meet our growth objectives
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence on potential acquisitions
  • Develop and execute business development strategies to drive growth
  • Collaborate with the Montreal team to assess and evaluate target acquisitions
  • Lead global expansion efforts and shape the future of mission-critical software businesses

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • ~2-4 years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, M&A, or Corporate Development
  • Strong business development and financial analysis skills, including building financial models
  • CFA or CIIA certification
  • Familiarity with a buy-and-build model and experience/knowledge in VMS, software, and technology
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the potential to build, grow, and manage a local team
