About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Analyst II to join our Windows Server Operations team at Alberta Health Services. As a valued member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering quality service in a fast-paced and high-energy environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Act as an escalation point for incident and problem management, providing expert technical support to resolve complex issues.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess problem scope, impact, and characteristics, making informed decisions and recommendations on resolution or interim workarounds.
  3. Monitor systems to ensure stable operations and optimum performance of environments, proactively maintaining or reacting quickly to crisis situations.
  4. Build, configure, and decommission server hardware, including rack mount and blade enclosures, adhering to defined procedures and best practices.
  5. Follow all protocols and standard operating procedures to ensure solutions are thoroughly tested, guaranteeing the stability of production environments.
  6. Research and propose key process improvements for all Windows environments throughout the organization.
  7. Create and update standard operating procedures and run books, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  8. Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and major incident callouts, as required, demonstrating a commitment to providing exceptional service.
  9. Develop and document design requirements and considerations, showcasing expertise in technical documentation.
  10. Travel to various locations in Alberta to provide operational support, ensuring seamless delivery of services.
About You:

We are looking for a highly motivated and self-directed individual with a strong background in Windows server technologies, excellent troubleshooting skills, and experience with HP/Dell rack mount server hardware and Blade enclosures. You should possess good written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in remote teams. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent, is required, along with 4+ years of Windows server related experience and 3+ years of experience with HP/Dell rack mount server hardware and Blade enclosures.
