About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Programme Director to lead our Transformation team in British Gas Services and Solutions. As a key member of our organisation, you will play a vital role in driving our growth strategy and implementing new technologies to enhance customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance the Programme Vision and Objectives, ensuring programme scope and boundaries are defined.
  • Establish a governance structure that drives clear accountability and responsibility.
  • Manage resource allocation effectively and mitigate programme risks through identification, assessment, and resolution.
  • Prioritise high-impact activities and develop a stakeholder engagement strategy to align and gain support from stakeholders.
  • Establish and monitor key performance metrics for the programme, including what success looks like.
  • Ensure credible planning across the programme takes place, taking account of interdependencies and that programme finances are managed in line with approved budgets.

Requirements:

  • Major programme leadership skills gained from a large complex organisation, preferably in the energy, FMCG, or utilities sectors.
  • Experience of managing programmes with medium to high complexity, including knowledge and experience of both waterfall and Agile delivery methods.
  • Deep understanding of IT-enabled business change and the delivery of benefits in a large, complex organisation with sometimes conflicting needs across different stakeholders.
  • Experience in providing strategic direction in the areas of governance, strategy, program management, vendor management, and portfolio management.
  • Programme governance knowledge and experience of managing dependencies across multiple projects and programmes.
