The Creative and Development (C & D) division empowers EA Studios to enhance player experiences. We are at the forefront of shaping the future of game creation, play, and viewing. Our Tools and Technology Team, part of the largest studio within EA Studios Technology Group (STG), is dedicated to this mission.

Your Role:

As a Technical Artist, you will collaborate closely with our Worlds Team, supported by a Product Owner and Technical Director. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining custom tools for various content creation workflows, as well as supporting essential EA content tools with a talented development team. You will report directly to a Development Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with artists and engineers to create user-friendly tools, efficient pipelines, and optimal workflows that facilitate the development and iteration of game content.
  • Gather user requirements, design, implement, debug, test, and ensure the quality of code.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Houdini, Maya, Python, and familiar with game engines such as Unreal, Frostbite, and Unity.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing content creation tools and workflows.
  • Strong understanding of content creation processes (e.g., modeling, shading) and software engineering best practices (e.g., design patterns, object-oriented design).
  • Experience collaborating on projects with various roles, including game teams, artists, engineers, Technical Directors, and Art Directors.
  • Eager to learn and implement new concepts, principles, and solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Frostbite.
  • Familiarity with UI development.
  • Experience utilizing USD-based workflows.
  • Proficient in Git.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary ranges listed are for defined geographic market pay zones. Salary offered will be determined based on various relevant factors, including education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business needs.
