Forklift Operator Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team at Emterra Group in Hamilton, Ontario. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating counterbalance forklifts in an industrial setting, ensuring safe work practices and efficient material handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate counterbalance forklifts equipment in an industrial setting;
  • Observe and maintain safe work practices;
  • Connect and disconnect super sacks from bag filling devices;
  • Weigh and record bag data, place bags in storage areas, and load trailers for shipment;
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and report defects or safety concerns;
  • Perform simple maintenance tasks such as cleaning and refueling.

Requirements:

  • Valid Ontario forklift license and formal training;
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50lbs, bend, and twist;
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals;
  • Accountability and responsibility in resolving issues in a timely manner;
  • Minimum 2 years experience operating forklifts in an industrial setting;
  • Punctual, reliable, and team-oriented.
