Health Care Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Health Care Aide to join our team at Southern Health-Santé Sud. As a Health Care Aide, you will provide support and assistance to residents/patients in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as identified in the care plan.
Key Responsibilities- Provide person-centered care according to established standards of practice, including but not limited to, Accreditation Canada Standards, Personal Care Home Standards, and legislative requirements.
- Exercise independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed, and action to be taken on unusual matters.
- Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Registered Psychiatric Nurses as team leaders to provide comprehensive care.
- Engage in education and certifications to maintain competency and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
- Minimum Grade 12
- Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute Care)
- 1-2 years of experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably caring for elderly or disabled clients
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize assigned workload, perform as a team member, and seek assistance as needed
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to interact well with others, work in stressful environments, and respect confidentiality
