Your Role
We are seeking skilled Substation Engineers to join our team across North America. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering power solutions for our clients, with opportunities for leadership and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery
- Design HV substation projects from initial concept through to construction.
- Draft reports that clearly communicate technical and project information to meet client expectations.
- Create comprehensive electrical design packages, including One-line diagrams, Site Plans, and Bill of Materials.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Integrate vendor information into design outputs effectively.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on electrical engineering designs.
- Provide ongoing updates and reports regarding project progress.
- Offer engineering support and guidance to field teams during construction phases.
- Lead proposal development and Level of Effort analyses.
- Develop accurate project estimates.
- Contribute to strategies that enhance project success and engage in key pursuits.
- Elevate Stantec's visibility by sharing our innovative solutions through client interactions.
- Assist in maintaining the opportunity pipeline to optimize business development and resource utilization.
- Foster local reputation through established relationships and participation in industry events.
- Inspire colleagues with your enthusiasm for Power Delivery.

- Provide expertise and support on technical matters.

Capabilities and Credentials:
- Expertise in various aspects of substation engineering, including civil, structural, and protection & control.
- Strong knowledge of substation grounding, lightning protection, and illumination studies.
- Ability to assess equipment details and clearances effectively.
- Familiarity with industry standards for high voltage electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations applicable in North America.
- Proven track record of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects efficiently.
- Additional skills that would be advantageous include:
- Understanding of Power Systems analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM).
- Experience with grounding analysis tools.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Awareness of Canadian utility standards.
- Degree in Electrical, Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng or PE) designation in North America.
- At least 10 years of experience in substation design and engineering within utilities or consulting firms.
