About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Life Insurance Business Development Associate to join our team at Raymond James Financial. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in supporting the underwriting process for life insurance applications submitted by financial advisors/agents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initial Application Review: Perform a thorough review of submitted life insurance applications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Agent Validation: Verify agent licensing and appointment for business submitted to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Case Management: Input case information into our agency management system for permanent record-keeping and tracking.
  • Application Submission: Submit good order applications to insurance carriers via secure delivery channels.
  • Underwriting Support: Order paramedical exams required by carriers for underwriting decisions and track completion of exams.
  • Follow-up and Communication: Follow up on requests for information to ensure timely completion and communicate with vendors and stakeholders as needed.
  • Policy Processing: Process issued life insurance policies for mailing to financial advisors/agents and send follow-up notices until delivery requirements are completed.
  • Delivery Requirements: Review and submit delivery requirements to insurance carriers and ensure receipt of delivery requirements and policy placement.
  • Policy Services: Process various policy service requests and support financial advisors/agents with requests for information.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years' experience in the life insurance or financial services industry or customer service.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Life and Accident & Illness License is helpful but not required.
