We are seeking a skilled Fruit Farming Labourer to join our team at Royalview Orchards Limited. As a Fruit Farming Labourer, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to fruit and vegetable farming, including clearing and collecting brush and debris, grading produce, and training trees to produce high-quality fruit.
Key Responsibilities- Clearing and Collecting: Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas.
- Produce Grading: Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, color, and volume to fetch high prices in the market.
- Tree Training: Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality.
- Weeding: Perform weeding tasks to maintain the health and productivity of the farm.
- Harvesting: Harvest crops in a timely and efficient manner.
- Cutting: Cut horticultural crops as required.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, tight deadlines, and physically demanding conditions. You will be required to work outdoors, at heights, and in wet/damp conditions. The work site environment is characterized by fruit and vegetable combination farming, with a rural area setting.
Requirements- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
- Experience: Experience is an asset, but not necessary.
- Physical Capabilities: The successful candidate must be able to handle heavy loads, work under pressure, and perform tasks that require standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking.
- Personal Suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, judgment, organization, and the ability to work as a team player are essential for this role.
The successful candidate will work 60 to 70 hours per week, with a seasonal work term. The work language is English, and the candidate must be able to distinguish between colors, have attention to detail, and possess hand-eye coordination.
