About the Role

Autodesk, a leading software company, is seeking a skilled Senior Software Developer to join its Platform Services Engineering team in Toronto, Canada. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing core components and services for the next generation of Autodesk Platform Services (APS), which powers the company's SaaS applications in various industries.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and software architecture, to develop technical solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Design, implement, and test software solutions in iterations, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain technical standards, processes, and best practices to ensure efficiency and documentation.
  • Work with partners to understand requirements, identify use cases, and develop a cohesive technical strategy.
  • Communicate technical solutions and project status to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to ensure Service Level Objectives (SLOs) are met.
  • Improve system performance through optimization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer-reported issues.
  • Participate in on-call rotations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in service development.
  • Strong programming skills in Java for service development.
  • Troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
  • Experience in large-scale software system development.
  • Experience with Continuous Delivery methodologies and tools.
  • Hands-on knowledge in building SaaS or PaaS solutions on AWS.
  • Hands-on knowledge in search or database technologies, such as Elastic Search.
  • Collaboration skills and a team-oriented spirit.
