Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Montessori Children's House Academy Ltd. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Assistance and Leadership: Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Child Guidance: Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, establish guidelines for behavior, and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Environment and Safety: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, and ensure compliance with licensing regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: Experience an asset.
  • Certifications: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), Child development worker (ECE level 2), Emergency child care first aid and CPR, First Aid Certificate, Montessori Early Childhood Teacher Certificate, and CPR Certificate.
  • Special Needs Experience: Experience working with children with intellectual disabilities, behavioral issues, allergies, asthma, ADHD, or ADD.
  • Security and Safety: Vulnerable sector check and criminal record check.
  • Transportation: Own transportation.
  • Work Conditions: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Personal Suitability: Punctuality, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, reliability, team player, and values and ethics.
