Position Overview:

The Construction Laborer plays a crucial role in assisting with various tasks throughout the construction and production processes. Reporting directly to the Foreman, this position involves a variety of physical labor duties that are essential for maintaining workflow and efficiency on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport, position, and handle construction materials across the job site.
  • Manually clear large rocks and debris from areas disturbed by heavy machinery, ensuring the site is safe for ongoing operations.
  • Implement traffic management strategies by setting up and removing traffic control devices, and directing vehicles as necessary.
  • Assist equipment operators by signaling for precise alignment and movement of materials.
  • Utilize tools such as rakes and shovels to distribute gravel and other materials for the preparation of concrete foundations.
  • Dig test holes by locating markers and safely isolating any exposed utilities, marking them appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, free from hazards and debris.
  • Carefully excavate around live utilities to ensure their integrity is preserved.
  • Operate various tools and equipment, including pneumatic hammers and skid steers, as needed.
  • Perform additional labor-related tasks as required by the project demands.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A high school diploma is preferred.
  • Possession of a Class 5 driver's license.
  • Previous experience in heavy civil construction or labor roles is advantageous.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying weights of at least 40 lbs. regularly.
