We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room department at University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC). As a Perioperative Nursing Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our perioperative nursing program.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and nursing practice activities within the framework of quality management and in accordance with the University Hospital of Northern BC mission statement.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the healthcare team.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Participate in the development and implementation of perioperative nursing policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the education and training of nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to promote safe, competent, patient care.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the healthcare team.
- Ability to communicate and maintain good public relations with family and friends of patients.
- Ability to recognize and intervene appropriately in an emergency situation.
- Physical ability to perform duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
