Job Title: Mass Spectrometry Lab Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mass Spectrometry Lab Scientist to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for leading mass spectrometry assay development projects and ensuring the quality of our laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimize mass spectrometry methods for various applications
  • Train and supervise staff on the use of mass spectrometry equipment
  • Source and choose appropriate reagents for assay development
  • Research and develop novel mass spectrometric methods
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and techniques in mass spectrometry
Requirements:
  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Forensic Sciences, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience working with mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, and liquid chromatography
  • Knowledge of programming languages (Python, R, Visual Basic) and familiarity with ISO 15189 or 17025
  • Ability to evaluate experimental results and provide direction to personnel
