Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Toronto, ON. This role is responsible for the general financial and administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department. The successful candidate will work closely with and report to the Accounts Payable Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and post all invoices to the appropriate company, general ledger account, and cost center.
  • Verify invoices with purchase or sales orders and investigate discrepancies.
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval.
  • Reconcile vendor and customer statements of account and related transactions.
  • Ensure invoices and other documents are properly logged, scanned, and filed.
  • Respond to Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable inquiries from vendors, suppliers, customers, and employees.
  • Setup and maintain suppliers, customer, and product master data within the ERP application.
  • Review aged A/P and A/R and assist with payments and collections.
  • Support internal and external audit requests as required.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • At least five years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently.
  • Sage X3 and Expensify or Certify experience is a plus, with ERP knowledge preferred.
  • HST and 1099 filing knowledge is favorable.
  • Demonstrated communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds.
