About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Body Technician to join our team at Dover Auto Centre Ltd. As a key member of our body shop team, you will be responsible for repairing and refinishing vehicles to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and Maintain Workspace: Ensure a safe and organized working environment by cleaning and maintaining your workspace.
  • Repair and Replace Body Components: Use your expertise to repair and replace body components, including front end components, body components, doors and frame, and underbody components.
  • File, Grind, and Sand Body Surfaces: Use specialized equipment to file, grind, and sand body surfaces to be repaired.
  • Mask and Tape Auto Body Surfaces: Apply masking and taping techniques to prepare auto body surfaces for painting.
  • Hammer Out Dents and Defects: Use blocks and hammers to remove dents, buckles, and defects from vehicle bodies.
  • Remove and Replace Damaged Components: Remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills, and bolt or weld replacement parts into place.
  • Apply Primers and Paint: Apply primers and repaint surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Repair or Replace Interior Components: Use your skills to repair or replace interior components, including windows, windshields, and sunroofs.
  • Mix Paint and Blend Colors: Mix paint and blend colors to achieve a perfect match.
  • Operate Soldering Equipment: Use soldering equipment to fill holes, dents, and seams.
  • Straighten Bent Frames: Use frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment to straighten bent frames.
Requirements
  • Area of Work Experience: Body components, doors and frame, frame straightening, front end components, interior components, metal cutting, paint spraying, underbody components, uni body machine, and welding.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, bending, crouching, kneeling.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, dependability, flexibility, judgement, reliability, and team player.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years, permanent employment, 35 hours per week, and English language proficiency.
