Security Operations Center Analyst

Job Title: SOC Analyst Level 2
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled SOC Analyst Level 2 to join our security operations team at Alter Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in monitoring and analyzing security alerts, determining their credibility and impact, and taking appropriate action to mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Alert Review and Qualification: Monitor and analyze security alerts from various sources, determining their credibility and impact, and taking appropriate action to mitigate risks.
- Initial Remediation Tasks: Address and resolve initial security concerns, implementing basic remediation measures to mitigate risks.
- Incident Escalation: In cases of major security incidents, promptly escalate to higher-level teams for further investigation and resolution.
Work Context:
- Emphasis on innovation, technological monitoring, and creativity.
- Frequent interaction with global infrastructure and application production teams.
- Navigating a complex organizational structure and managing the pressure from security incidents.
Qualifications:
- Education: A degree in technical IT, cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Cybersecurity Knowledge: Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices, familiarity with common cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Incident Response Skills: Quick reflexes in responding to security incidents, ability to identify and analyze potential threats.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience; prior experience in a SOC environment.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work in a shift-based schedule, including nights and weekends.
Other Required Qualities:
- Ability to develop good relationships with other production teams.
- Autonomy, availability, perseverance, and stress resilience (analytical ability during production incidents).
- Evaluation criteria will include: understanding of security topics and their implications, ability to respond to security incidents, motivation, availability, and thoroughness.
