About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join our team at Abbott Construction. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for framing and constructing buildings, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare and Construct Building Frames
    • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
    • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
    • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Install Finishing Elements
    • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Coordinate and Supervise Work
    • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
    • Supervise other workers
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • Working at heights training
    • First Aid Certificate
    • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
    • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
  • Experience and Skills
