Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general repairs to waste equipment, including compactors and balers, to ensure optimal performance and extend their lifespan.
- Conduct diagnostic checks on structural, electrical, and hydraulic components to identify and rectify issues promptly.
- Carry out preventative maintenance inspections throughout New Brunswick to prevent equipment downtime and ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience working on machinery, including hydraulics or electrical systems, is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit drawings and mechanical blueprints to diagnose, repair, and replace various parts and components.
- Attention to detail and experience working with hand tools, such as drills, grinders, wrenches, hammers, and measurement tape.
- Strong verbal communication skills and a professional appearance, positive attitude, and a safety-first mindset.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions year-round and wearing protective clothing while working in or near garbage, recycling, or compost material.
- Welding or millwright background is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license.
