Job Title: Greenhouse Labourer

We are seeking a skilled Greenhouse Labourer to join our team at Heeman Greenhouses Limited. As a Greenhouse Labourer, you will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of our greenhouse, including crop care, maintenance, and harvesting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cut and harvest horticultural crops
  • Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants
  • Mix and prepare soils
  • Plant bulbs and seeds
  • Pot and re-pot plants
  • Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings
  • Apply fertilizers
  • Report signs of insect or disease damage
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens
  • Clean work area
Work Environment:

Our greenhouse is a fast-paced environment with a large workload. You will be working outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces. You will be exposed to wet/damp conditions, odours, hot and cold temperatures, and non-smoking areas.

Requirements:
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Experience an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel
