Position Overview
The Senior Vice President of Sales Operations will oversee the following key responsibilities:
- Leadership: Direct the Sales and customer service teams at APG Canada West, managing 4 direct reports and 25 indirect reports across western Canada.
- Strategic Development: Formulate and implement strategies aimed at driving profitable sales growth while ensuring exceptional service delivery to our clientele.
- Safety Compliance: Uphold a high level of safety awareness, ensuring that the team adheres to all safety protocols and policies.
- Team Direction: Provide guidance and leadership to the sales team, establishing the selling and go-to-market strategy for the region.
- Sales Execution: Collaborate with Sales Managers to devise annual sales execution plans for all Sales Representatives, ensuring targets and sales goals are met or exceeded.
- Customer Development: Lead and mentor sales staff in acquiring new customers, boosting sales, and enhancing overall customer satisfaction.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Senior Leadership team to propel the overall business forward.
Sales Management
- Develop and maintain an accurate sales budget year over year.
- Provide detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports, highlighting trends, areas for improvement, and overall business health.
- Propose and implement strategies for market expansion, including the introduction of new products.
- Collaborate with other divisions to achieve optimal market results.
- Coordinate with production and operations to ensure product quality and availability meets demand.
- Address major client account issues in collaboration with the Operations team promptly.
- Work with the Finance department on credit assignments, collections, and billing challenges.
Administrative Oversight
Manage administrative sales functions related to the designated product sales program. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Management, Sales, Marketing, Client Services, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior sales leadership role is required. A proven track record of leading high-performing teams in Sales and Customer Service is essential. Familiarity with residential, commercial, and retail distribution channels is necessary. Experience in a mid to large-sized business with multiple locations across western Canada is advantageous. Previous experience in leading sales teams through transitions is also beneficial.
