Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to join our team at First Student. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, while providing excellent customer service and ensuring the well-being of our passengers.

Responsibilities
  • Transportation Operations
    • Drive a variety of buses and vehicles in a safe and courteous manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
    • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the interior of the bus.
    • Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and reliability of our fleet.
  • Customer Service
    • Interact with students, parents, and other stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner.
    • Assist passengers with disabilities, including those using wheelchairs or other mobility aids.
  • Reporting and Communication
    • Complete and submit accurate and timely reports regarding incidents, accidents, and other issues.
    • Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
  • A valid Class 2 Driver's License with air brake endorsement.
  • The ability to obtain Operator's License with required endorsements.
  • A clean driving record with no contraventions.
  • A willingness to work a variety of shifts, including early, split, and late shifts.
  • A good general knowledge of the demographics of the service area.
  • The ability to pass a vulnerable sector records check and drug and alcohol testing.
