Role Overview

Reporting to the AVP of Merchandise Planning and Allocation Transformation, the Senior Manager of Strategic Merchandise Planning will play a crucial role in aligning Mark's objectives with the overarching CTC Enterprise Vision for Merchandise Planning and Allocation aimed at optimizing store-level assortments.

This position is accountable for the integration of new and non-competitive real estate opportunities, customer insights, and merchandise strategies into an AI-enhanced store location planning framework. The goal is to ensure our stores are stocked with the most relevant assortments tailored to our customers' preferences. The role will oversee both a Data Scientist and a Channel Planner position within the Strategic Planning Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop annual and seasonal merchandise sales plans by channel.
  • Analyze data for Bricks and Mortar, ECommerce, and Mark's Commercial Channels.
  • Generate seasonal store clustered plan data for planners and merchant teams.
  • Produce monthly and seasonal AI-driven merchandise forecasts to assist merchants and planners with trend analysis.
  • Offer ad hoc store assortment recommendations based on loyalty and market insights.
  • Leverage data knowledge to integrate customer insights into store assortment planning.
  • Exhibit a passion for data and technology, focusing on process enhancements through innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrate business acumen by translating data into actionable insights that drive business value.
  • Communicate effectively, crafting compelling narratives that succinctly convey ideas and insights.
  • Utilize visualization skills to create impactful communication tools and reports that support analytical initiatives.
  • Foster collaboration across teams to create synergies and provide analytical solutions.
  • Engage actively with data teams to enhance data capabilities continuously.
  • Manage the incorporation of data insights into actionable plans.
  • Collaborate with various cross-functional teams, including CTC Real Estate, Merchandise Purchasing, Strategy Data Analytics, Store Operations, and Financial Planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in retail merchandise assortments.
  • Supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of SQL is advantageous.
  • Experience in conducting cohort analysis and customer segmentation.
  • Familiarity with customer-level data is considered beneficial.
